Kara and Aero Acton

Aero Acton is the oldest of the four children of Arlo and Robyn. He was born in 1972 in Hopland, where Arlo and Robyn lived, before they moved to the San Juan Ridge in 1976, to set up the basis for Olala Farms. Aero has been married to Kara Acton for almost 20 years. They own an arboriculture business in Nevada City called ‘Leaf it To Me, Inc.’. Aero and Kara both hold a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Horticulture and Urban Forestry from the University of California, Davis, and Aero is an ISA Certified Arborist with more than 25 years of experience.

While growing up, Aero has lived in a number of places all over the property, from the old 'Spartan Royal Mansion' - the trailer that was pulled into the feeder barn and later burned down in the fire of 1976 - to tarpaper tipis, as well as in the farmhouse. When he was 13, he moved into his own trailer close to the farmhouse, because his younger siblings were bothering him too much. When he was in high school, he developed an interest in farming and began to grow his own produce, and later built a cabin on the property for himself and Kara. At that time, Aero was considering to take over the farm when Arlo retires. They lived on the property for a short period of time, but as is often the case, things turned out differently, and they now live in Nevada City, about a twenty-minute drive away from Olala Farms, with their two sons Aiden and Zane.
